TERMS & CONDITIONS

Reservation & Payment: A 20% deposit is required to reserve the wedding date.The remaining balance is due on the wedding day.


Cancellations & Date Changes: The deposit is non-refundable if the wedding is canceled by the couple. If the date needs to be changed and the Wedding Officiant is available, the event may be rescheduled.


The 20% deposit will be refunded only if the Wedding Officiant cancels the service due to reasons solely attributable to her own actions or negligence.


Force Majeure: The Wedding Officiant shall not be held responsible for events beyond her reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of God, government actions, orders, regulations or restrictions, severe weather conditions, strikes, or similar events. In the event that services cannot be provided due to Force Majeure, no refund of the deposit shall be issued.


Ceremony Details: Ceremony information and legal requirements must be provided at least 12 days before the wedding (for civil weddings).


Rehearsal & Overtime: Rehearsals are optional and may incur an additional fee. A 30-minute delay grace period is included. Additional time, if approved, is billed at $100 per hour.


Liability: Liability is limited to the amount paid for officiant services.


Photography: Photography may be included. Photos are delivered within 30 business days. Images may be used for promotional purposes.

Payment Method: For your convenience, payments can be made via PayPal, credit card, cash or to Wedding Officiant/Notary's bank account. Once this Terms and Conditions are accepted, an invoices will be sent to the Client’s designated email address, and payments should be made as outlined in the invoice.


Governing Law: If legal action is necessary to enforce the terms of this contract the prevailing party shall be entitled to reasonable attorney fees in additional to any other remedies to which that party might be legally entitled. The undersigned have read this contract, understand its terms, and agree to be bound thereby by Costa Rica’s Law. Any additions, deletions, or revisions must be made in writing and approved by all responsible parties. The parties agree that this contract is the complete and exclusive statement of the mutual understanding of the parties.


Agreement: By booking, the couple agrees to these terms and conditions.


SERVICES AND REQUIREMENTS


1) Symbolic Ceremony + Photography:


Cost: $680 (includes Symbolic Wedding fee and a 1.5 hour photo session, travel costs for venues located within 150 km of San José; venues farther away have an additional travel fee of $200 USD.


2) Civil Ceremony with international marriage certificate + Photography:


Cost: $1350 (includes Civil Wedding fee and a 1.5-hour photo session, includes travel costs for venues located within 150 km of San José; venues farther away have an additional travel fee of $200 USD).

This price applies to Central America, United States or Canada residents. (prices may vary depending on the country to which the wedding certificate has to be sent via regular mail).


Requirements for Civil Marriage:To proceed with a civil marriage, the following requirements must be met:


  1. Birth and Single Status Certificate: Must be properly apostilled by the country of residence. 

  2. Alternative Option for Foreign Residents: In the absence of the previously mentioned certificates, and at the discretion of the Notary/Officiant, individuals may be exempted. Instead, foreign residents can sign an affidavit before the wedding declaring their single status and birth information. This affidavit doesn't have an additional cost. 

  3. Two Adult Witnesses: Two witnesses of legal age must testify to knowing the couple and affirming their single status for marriage.

  4.  Valid ID: Bring valid identification documents on the day of the signing (couple and witnesses).


Note: Once the apostilled marriage certificate has been issued, the couple must present it in their home country to complete the local marriage registration process, in accordance with the regulations of their national authorities.


It is important for the couple to check whether their country is part of the Apostille Convention in order for the apostilled marriage certificate to be valid in their country. Each country or state has different regulations, so please make sure to review the requirements for validating foreign marriages with your local government beforehand.


3) Symbolic Wedding:

Cost: $380 (includes Symbolic Wedding fee)*


4) Civil Wedding:

Cost: $1,050 (includes Civil Wedding fee) *


*Same conditions and travel costs.


5) Additional Photography Session (per extra hour):

Cost: $150.
