TERMS & CONDITIONS
RESERVATION AND CANCELLATION: To confirm the reservation, a 50% payment of the total fee is required, with the remaining 50% Â is due 48 hours before the wedding. If the Client decides to cancel the Officiant's services, the cancellation must be communicated in writing. In the event of cancellation by the Client, only 50% of the total fee for the Officiant's services will be refunded. The cancellation notice must be received at least 24 hours before the scheduled wedding date to be eligible for the refund. If the cancellation notice is not received within this timeframe, no refund will be issued. If the event is postponed 48 hours before the wedding, services contracted can be applied to a new date if available.
CEREMONY DETAILS:The Client will provide the Officiant with details regarding the ceremony, including vows, readings, and any special requests, at least 4 days before the wedding.
REHEARSAL: If a rehearsal is desired, additional fee of $400 may apply. The details of the rehearsal will be agreed upon separately.
LIABILITY:  It is understood that the Wedding Officiant is only liable for services completed and provided by Wedding Officiant and cannot be held liable for the services of other contracted vendors. It is understood that in no event shall Wedding Officiant be liable for consequential damages of any kind. Client agrees that in all circumstances, Wedding Officiant’s liability shall be exclusively limited to an amount equal to the performance fee from any breach of contract.
RESPONSIBILITY: The Wedding Officiant/Notary is not responsible for Acts of God, natural disasters, acts of government such as a declaration of national or local emergency, or other incidents beyond the control of the Wedding Officiant/Notary (e.g., accident, family death, illness, pregnancy, or sudden tragic circumstance). In such situations, the Wedding Officiant/Notary will, upon client approval, arrange for a qualified professional replacement to fulfill the obligations under this contract at no additional cost to the client. If a suitable replacement cannot be found, the Wedding Officiant/Notary commits to refunding 100% of the amount paid by the client.
CIVIL MARRIAGE Â AND APOSTILLE: In case of a civil ceremony with an apostilled marriage certificate request, the Notary will submit the signed document to the Costa Rican Civil Registry. Once registered, the Notary will obtain the apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and send it to the Client's provided address. The Client is responsible for furnishing the correct delivery address. After receiving the apostilled document, the Client must handle the registration process in their home country, following local procedures and deadlines. Estimated time: 60 business days.
OVERTIME: The Officiant agrees to arrive at the wedding venue listed fifteen (15) minutes before the defined Start Time of the Ceremony (barring uncontrollable factors as previously detailed above). Additional unplanned and/or un-contracted services are considered overtime and will be billed with prior notification and consent at the rate of $100 per hour or part thereof. Wedding Officiant agrees to arrive at the wedding location listed on the contract at the agreed time, barring unforeseen legitimate issues beyond her control. Client understands that they must adhere to the agreed-upon ceremony start time. Wedding Officiant does understand that wedding days do not always go as planned and will accommodate for weddings that start later than scheduled, as time permits. Wedding Officiant will allow for a thirty (30) minutes block of time per wedding to give plenty of time for unexpected delays. This block of time begins at the officiant’s scheduled arrival time. If extended time is needed beyond the aforementioned block AND the contracted officiant is available and agrees to stay, client agrees to pay Wedding Officiant compensation of $100 per additional hour. This fee is not prorated.
